अक्षराङ्कन प्रणालीको सामान्य बुझाई, अभ्यास र वास्तविकता !

नेपालमा अक्षराङ्कन  मूल्यांकन प्रणाली कक्षा १० को परीक्षामा २०७१ साल देखि सुरुवात गरियो।  यसवर्ष परीक्षण को लागि देशभर संचालित 99 वटा प्राविधिक धार तर्फका विद्यालयहरूमा  लागु गरियो। यसवर्ष छ वटा ग्रेड  कायम गरिएको थियो। त्यसपछि २०७२ साल देखि देशभरका सबै विद्यालयहरुमा एसएलसीको मूल्यांकनमा अक्षराङ्कन प्रणाली लागु गरियो। यसवर्ष ग्रेड सङ्ख्या संशोधन गरी नौ वटा ग्रेड कायम गरियो। ति ग्रेडहरुमा E, D, D+, C, C+, B, B+, A, A+ थिए र अहिलेपनि यिनै ग्रेड हरु अभ्यास गरिँदै आइरहेको छ।

शिक्षा ऐन २०२८ लाई  २०७३ असार १५ गते आठौ संशोधन गरी परीक्षा नियन्त्रण कार्यालयलाई राष्ट्रिय परीक्षा बोर्ड बनाइयो र कक्षा १० को अन्तिम परीक्षालाई  माध्यमिक शिक्षा परीक्षा, अंग्रेजीमा Secondary Education Examination (SEE) र कक्षा १२ को अन्तिम परीक्षालाई  School Leaving Certificate Examination नामाकरण गरी यही संशोधनमार्फत  उच्च माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद पनि खारेज गरियो। यसैगरी  शिक्षा ऐनको नवौं संशोधनले जिल्ला शिक्षा कार्यालय खारेज गरी शिक्षा विकास तथा समन्वय इकाईको व्यवस्था गर्यो।

सामान्य बुझाई 

पछिल्लो समय परीक्षार्थीहरुले प्राप्त गरेको  GPA लाइ ग्रेड पाेइन्ट मा परिवर्तन गरि विद्यालयहरुले नतिजाको जानकारी गराउदै आइरहेकाे पाएका छौं।  यो गलत अभ्यास हो।  उदाहरणको लागि जिपिए 3.2 प्राप्त गरेकाे विद्यार्थीले  B+ ग्रेड  प्राप्त गरेछ भन्न मिल्दैन। राष्ट्रिय परीक्षा बोर्डले प्रकाशित गरेको नतिजामा जिपिए दिएको छ।  हामी त्यसलाई ग्रेड मा परिवर्तन गर्छौं l रामले 3.2  ल्याएछ यो भनेको कुन ग्रेड हो भनेर सोध्छाैँ । जहाँ GPA  भनेको औसत  हो र ग्रेड  भनेको कुनै एउटा विषयमा प्राप्त गरेको अंकको आधारमा प्रदान गरिएको स्तर । हामीले के फरक छुट्याउनु पर्छ भने GPA सबै बिषयहरूको औसत ‌‌‍‍‍र ग्रेड भनेको कुनै एक विषयको मात्र हुन्छ।

यहाँ  बुझ्नुपर्ने कुरा के छ भने अङ्क, ग्रेड, ग्रेड पाेइन्ट र जिपीए छुट्टा-छुट्टै कुराहरु हुन्। अङ्क भनेको परीक्षार्थीहरुले लेखेअनुसार निरीक्षकले प्रदान गरेको अङ्क हो।  ग्रेड भनेको परीक्षार्थीले प्राप्त गरेको अंक वा प्रतिशतको आधारमा प्रदान गरिएको स्तर हो जुन अक्षरमा व्यक्त गरिन्छ।  ग्रेड पाेइन्ट भनेको विद्यार्थीले प्राप्त गरेको ग्रेड  को आधारमा निश्चित अङ्क मा व्यक्त गरिने  अर्को स्तर हो।  अब कुरा रह्यो जिपिए काे ।  जिपिए भनेको ग्रेड पाेइन्टहरुकाे औसत हो।  अथवा Grade Point Average.  सबै बिषयहरूको औसत GPA लाइ  ग्रेडमा कन्भर्ट गर्न मिल्दैन।  त्यसैगरी ग्रेड  लाईपनि अङ्क मा  परिवर्तन गरी व्यत्त  गर्न मिल्दैन।

वास्तविकता 

हाल प्रचलनमा अभ्यास गरिँदै आएको अक्षराङ्कन प्रणाली अन्तरगत अंकहरुकाे रेन्ज र  त्यसैअनुसारको ग्रेड र ग्रेड पाेइन्ट  निम्नानुसार रहेकाे छ।

यस तालिकाअनुसार १०० पूर्णाङ्कको कुनै पनि विषयको परीक्षामा विद्यार्थीहरुले प्राप्त गरेका अंकहरुकाे रेन्ज र अङ्क अनुसारको ग्रेड र ग्रेड अनुसारको ग्रेड पाेइन्ट दिएको छ।  यहाँ जम्मा ९ वटा ग्रेड हरु रहेका छन्।  १०० पुर्णाङ्क भएको कुनै पनि  विषयको परीक्षामा विद्यार्थीहरुले ० देखि १९ सम्म अङ्क प्राप्त गरेमा E ग्रेड प्राप्त गर्दछन् । यसकाे ग्रेड पाेइन्ट 0.8 हुन्छ । यसैगरी २० देखि २९ सम्म को अङ्क प्राप्त गरेमा D  प्राप्त गर्नेछन् र 1.2 प्राप्त गर्छन्।  त्यसैले कुनैपनि विद्यार्थीले 90 अङ्क प्राप्त गरेका छन् भने A+ ग्रेड  प्राप्त गर्दछन् र 4.0 ग्रेड पाेइन्ट हासिल गर्छन्।  यहाँ  ९० र १०० काे बिचमा जतिसुकै अङ्क ल्याएपनि A+ वा 4.0  प्राप्त गर्नेछन्।  यहाँ निर उल्लेख गरेको गरिएको अङ्क, ग्रेड र ग्रेड पाेइन्ट  विषयगत हुन्।

अक्षराङ्कन पद्धति कार्यान्वयन कार्यविधि, २०७२ का अनुसार यसको विस्तृत व्याख्या यस्तो छ-

A+ Outstanding Admirable evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing the subject matter; demonstration of extra ordinary performance in problem-solving, creativity and participation, exceptionally independent in learning and organizing contents; higher performance in balancing knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of contents; independent and extra excellent performance; superior in communication skills.

A Excellent Strong evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing the subject matter; demonstration of higher performance in problem-solving, creativity and participation; high level ability in learning and organizing the contents with successful analysis, synthesis and evaluation of contents; highly commendable performance; advanced in communication skills.

B+ Very Good Great evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing the subject matter; demonstration of higher performance in problem-solving, creativity and participation; high level ability in learning and organizing the contents with successful analysis, synthesis and evaluation of contents; remarkable but not particularly independent performance; sound in communication skills.

B Good Better evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing the subject matter; demonstration of reasonably good but not particularly independent performance in problem-solving, creativity and participation; good capacity of learning, organizing and analyzing the contents; satisfactory level of performance; reasonable communication skills.

C+ Above average Acceptable evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing the subject matter; demonstration of reasonably good but not particularly independent performance in problem-solving, creativity and participation; good capacity of learning, organizing and analyzing the contents; moderate level of performance; reasonable communication skills.

C Average Some evidence of grasping, thinking and summarizing; demonstration of moderate level performance in problem-solving; satisfactory capacity in learning and organizing the contents; adequate level of performance with basic communication skills.

D Below average Little evidence of grasping and thinking; demonstration of low level performance in problem-solving; poor capacity in learning and organizing the contents; poor level of performance; indequate communication skills.

E Insufficient Negligible evidence of grasping and thinking; demonstration of very poor level of performance; poor learning involvement and weak communication skills.
